Spirit of Colors

Holi, the festival of colors, is celebrated in the month of Phalgun (February-March). With winter neatly tucked up in the attic, it's time to come out of our cocoons and enjoy this spring festival.

‘Holi' comes from the word ‘hola' which means sacrifice. The festival is a reminder that we must live our lives in a spirit of service and sacrifice. It stands for the victory of good over evil, a theme that runs through every Indian festival. For it is impossible that those who live their lives by truth will ever be overcome by the corrupt.

Holi celebration begins with lighting up of bonfire on the Holi eve. Numerous legends & stories associated with Holi celebration makes the festival more exuberant and vivid. People rub 'gulal' and 'abeer' on each others' faces and cheer up saying, "bura na maano Holi hai". Holi also gives a wonderful chance to send blessings and love to dear ones wrapped in a special Holi gift.

Holi also celebrates the legend of Radha and Krishna which describes the extreme delight, Krishna took in applying colour on Radha and other gopis. This prank of Krishna later, became a trend and a part of the Holi festivities.

Holi helps to bring the society together and strengthens relationships. Chandrani Pearls wishes to spread love, joy, happiness and laughter on this occasion.

Chandrani Pearls wishes everyone a very Happy Holi!

'Being a woman of today'

The American Poet Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "What lies behind us and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” Little did he know that his quote would sum up the past, present and future of women every where.

A woman of today is a woman of substance. A woman of substance is a woman of power, a woman of positive influence and a woman of meaning. To be branded a woman of substance is one the greatest compliments one can give a woman who wants to be an influential female. A woman of today is not the one born necessarily with courage but born with potential.

A woman of today is clothed in strength and dignity. She laughs without the fear of the future.

A woman of today lives her life on her own terms and shouldn’t let society define her. She becomes the signature icon of herself. A strong woman is the bearer, the pacifier and she has the belief and faith of what she does. She discovers the independent woman within herself.

A woman of today lives by the morals and values of life. She is sensitive, assertive and unique as well. She has high self esteem, confident, humble and last but not least loves herself.

Chandrani Pearls salutes all the ‘Women of today’ this International Women’s Day for being so fearless and for being what they are today.
